Fall Date Night with Adore Me!

Fall is approaching and I can already smell all of the pumpkin spice lattes...  But of course some things are better than others!  When this season comes around all I can think about is strolling along the apple orchards and baking some great pies!  That's why Adore Me and I teamed up to create some great date night outfits.  Adore Me is a popular lingerie company were you can get so many styles.  I loved just about every set!  So many of the colors and styles were perfect for fall, but these 3 really captured the essence of each date I'm excited to go on!

Apple Picking

Denim Shirt - Forever21 // Tee - Forever21 // Leggings - Target

When you go apple picking, one of the most important things to remember is to stay comfortable! Leggings give the perfect stretch for all that reaching and running around.  And of course it's going to be a bit chilly out so I paired one of my favorite graphic tees with a glitzy denim shirt.

What I'm Wearing Underneath...

Baking

Sweater - Hollister // Tee - American Eagle // Jeans - Old Navy // Necklace - Francescas

After you go out to pick those apples, you gotta do something creative with them!  One of my favorite things to do with my brand new Golden Deliciouses is bake them in an apple crisp.  I chose a cute sweater to go over a basic tee and jeans to stay nice and cozy, and I topped it off with one of my favorite statement necklaces!  Although this is a very basic outfit, what's underneath packs a punch!

What I'm Wearing Underneath...

Pumpkin Carving

Top - Forever21 // Skirt - H&M // Earrings - Claires

Although I don't like to get my pumpkin fill from a hot latte, I love to show my creative flow with a cool pumpkin carving session.  To make the gears turn,  I decided to style a really trendy outfit! Obviously the color says it all.  Sure I'll look like Halloween threw up all over me, but little did you know that's what I was going for!  I love how I brought in a bit of the 70's vibe with the A line skirt and high neck color.

What I'm Wearing Underneath...

Thrift City 1 : Thrift Tips

Thrift Tips:
A guide to a smart successful thrift.

Thrifting is quickly becoming the mainstream when it comes to discovering something old and turning it into something unique and funky.  Today's post covers the basics, from learning the trade jargon to a field guide on various materials to the biggest question when shopping.  Here we go!

Learn the Lingo:
These few terms will help turn you into a vintage pro!

Dead stock- Finding a dead stock piece in a local thrift is like striking vintage gold.  For an item to be dead stock means that a store either closed or went out of business before the item was sold.  So finding a dead stock item is finding a brand new item that's never left the store other than when it was bought by the thrift store or seller.
NWT- “New with tags”, Similar to dead stock the only difference being that the item was bought by someone but never worn.  This is most commonly used in online thrifting, on websites such as Poshmark, EBay, or Etsy to name a few.
Upcycle- Upcycling is taking something old and turning it into something new and improved.  Such as distressing an old pair of jeans or reupholstering a chair.

Fabric and Quality:
Whether thrifting or shopping at the mall knowing what you're buying can make all the difference!

Cotton-  No matter the item cotton is the most reliable when it comes to fabric.  It's generally machine washable and holds up great over time.

Acrylic- This is the material to look out for when buying clothing.  Acrylic is commonly found in sweaters or knitted materials.  Be very very careful when buying anything made from acrylic because it will most likely pill or fall about in the washing machine.  The best way to keep an acrylic item looking nice is to follow the care instructions on the inside tag!

Polyester- Polyester fabric is very durable and often contains a nice stretch to it.  But you can often find that you are more prone to sweating in a polyester shirt rather than a cotton one.

Wool- Wool is a very expensive material that needs to be looked after with much care.  Always follow the care instructions when it comes to washing wool. In addition to being difficult to care for wool also stains very easily and does not respond well to bleaching.

Is it worth it?

This is the very most important thing to ask yourself when thrift shopping.  Is the item unique enough to spend your money on, will you actually wear it in your day to day life?  It's not enough to own something cool and trendy for it to sit in your closet forever.  Think of every item you thrift as a commitment, do you have something to wear with that item?  Or do you already own something very similar?  Whether it's a low end thrift for $5.00 or a vintage designer piece for $50.00 always make sure that the piece you're buying is worth it to you!

Weekly Style : Just A Little Bit of Me

Welcome back to the blog!  This week, I've chosen a few of my favorites that I feel it embodies everything I'm about.  I good coral lipstick, some nude polish, and a pretty floral dress.  If it fits those categories, I'm seriously all about it.  My favorite part about this bunch is the pearl earrings.  They are so effortless.  I could wear sweatpants and pop on some pearls, and BAM!  I look like a daydream. When I'm wearing that dress from H&M and pearl earrings, I want to go back in time and take a romantic cruise.  Also, I layered the two pastel purples to create a cool frosty effect!

Forever 21 Lipstick in Nude // Covergirl Lipstick in Decadent Peach // Rimmel Lasting Finish Lipstick by Kate Moss in 33 // Tarte Tarteist Clay Paint Liner in Bronze // Maybelline The Falsies Push Up Drama Mascara // Revlon Parfumerie Scented Nail Enamel in Lavender Soap // Ciate Paint Pot in Spinning Teacup // Dermelect Peptide Infused Strength Nail Color // Elf Nail Polish in Desert Haze // Forever 21 Pearl Earrings // Aeropostale Chambray Tank Top // Hollister White Tunic // H&M Navy Floral Dress

Week of 8/15/16 - 8/21/16

Monday
I started off my long, dragging week with an early morning of tennis.  Later on in the day my boyfriend treated me to Uminoya, which is a sushi restaurant, and some Dairy Queen!  Recently, my favorite treat has been a cookie dough blizzard.  That day I posted last week's Weekly Roundup post.

Tuesday
I woke up bright and early for another day of tennis.  Later on, I volunteered at the hospital.

Wednesday
Another day, another tennis practice.  Later on I went to Uminoya and Rita's with my boyfriends sister, and I also took a quick trip to Marshalls.  Today was my last day with my boyfriend before he left for Florida, so it was a sad, sad, day.  We decided to go to Panera and went back to his house later.

Thursday
The only thing I did that day was play tennis.  The rest was doing schoolwork.

Friday
This was my last day of tennis this week.  I'm kinda glad it's over... for now.  Later that night I went to Friday's.  Man, I cannot resist a Jack Daniel's burger!

Saturday
Today my family and I went to Outback Steakhouse and got Cold Stone.  Am I the only one absolutely obsessed with their cotton candy ice cream?  It's the bomb.  I also posted my How I Style... Patterned Shorts post.

Sunday
I met up with an old friend and went shopping for a bit.  We went to Fastbreak for lunch, Marshalls, a thrift store named Silk Purse, and Target.  It was a good time, although I didn't buy much!

This weeks haul...

How I Style... Patterned Shorts

Forever 21 Button Down (similar) // Forever 21 Patterned Shorts // Forever 21 Circle Necklace (similar) // American Eagle Flip Flops // PBJ Smoothie Stick

Sometimes something as simple as shorts can throw you for a loop.  I mean, patterned bottoms are not quite as simple as wearing a patterned top, and can sometimes draw attention in the wrong places.  For me, one of my favorite ways to wear patterned bottoms is in some soft shorts.  This outfit can be worn both in the Summer and in the Fall, being that the top is very sheer.  The looseness of the top can outweigh the looseness of the shorts, making you look less bottom-heavy.  I own at least 7 pairs of patterned shorts, and these are definitely my favorite.  The pattern is so easy to pair with a lot of my other wardrobe pieces, and are extremely comfortable.  I honestly could wear these to bed!  To accessorize, I added a small pendant necklace.  I didn't want to draw away the attention from the shorts.  My favorite color lipstick to wear with navy is a berry color, and what better product to use than a PB&J lipstick!  It goes perfectly.  To keep it casual, I paired some leather flip flops with it.

Thanks so much for visiting my blog!
How would you style these shorts?  What else would you like me to style?

Week of 8/8/16 - 8/14/16

Monday
As per usual... I had tennis bright and early.  No complaints, though, because it makes me start my day early.  I also posted My Favorite Lightweight Lippies.  Who doesn't like a good no fuss product?

Tuesday
Tennis again!  Later in the day, my boyfriend treated me to some Panera and Coldstone.  Mac and cheese and cotton candy ice cream is a good day in my book.

Wednesday
Tennis.  Tennis.  TENNIS!!!  Surprised?  I need a vacation, and that's why my Weekly Style was perfectly based around that exact theme.  Also, a small rant about twitter.  I don't know if many of you know, but I am a huge Taylor Swift fan.  This whole Kanye thing has gotten out of hand, and I don't appreciate people attacking me on social media for purely liking her.  These "fights" get so out of hand that the topics don't even stay on celebrity drama.  I need to do something better with my life.

Thursday
Tennis!  I am officially going craaazy!  Thank god my Ipsy and Birchbox came.  They made me sane for a good 10 minutes.  I also posted Lusting For... Forever21, which isn't a surprise because when don't I want to go shopping?  On another note, my family isn't big on carbs, which is why when I have a bagel, I have a bagel thin.  They're really not half bad, and you don't feel overly full afterwards.

Friday
I ended the week with one last day of tennis.  I celebrated with a trip down to Lavalette, which is a cute beach town about a half hour from me.  There's a bunch of expensive cute boutiques that have such unique items.  One of my favorite places to go there is a breakfast/lunch place called Megs.  Their cuban sandwich is soooo gooood.  I ended the day with the cutest dessert.  Instead of eating ice cream in paper bowls, my mom made these tiny brownie bowls!  Mint chocolate chip ice cream with a warm brownie is the way to go, if you were wondering.

Saturday
Saturday was a short day, purely for the fact I went to one of my boyfriend's cousins' birthday parties.  They switched it up this time and got a regular cake instead of ice cream cake. Woop!

Sunday
Sunday I also went to another birthday party.  It was for my boyfriend's sister, and her real birthday is today.  Happy Birthday Jordyne!  His family went back to ice cream cake, and I'll admit, I wasn't mad about it.  This week's Swatch Sunday was all about one of my holy grail products.  Go check it out to see what it is.

This week's haul...

Swatch Sunday #11

Happy Swatch Sunday!  This week I wanted to swatch one of my all time favorite highlighters.  The Benefit Watt's Up! Highlighter.  This is a cream highlighter that comes in stick form.  I got mine as a sample, but it's pretty generous.  The color is gorgeous and fits in right with my skin tone.  Since I have a warmer skin tone, I rather go for a champagne color, rather than a silver highlight.  What I like most about this product, is that it doesn't mess up my foundation.  It just meshes, and that's what a good cream product should do!

Thanks so much for visiting my blog!
Have you tried this highlighter?  What do you think about it?
