Week of 8/15/16 - 8/21/16

Monday
I started off my long, dragging week with an early morning of tennis.  Later on in the day my boyfriend treated me to Uminoya, which is a sushi restaurant, and some Dairy Queen!  Recently, my favorite treat has been a cookie dough blizzard.  That day I posted last week's Weekly Roundup post.

Tuesday
I woke up bright and early for another day of tennis.  Later on, I volunteered at the hospital.

Wednesday
Another day, another tennis practice.  Later on I went to Uminoya and Rita's with my boyfriends sister, and I also took a quick trip to Marshalls.  Today was my last day with my boyfriend before he left for Florida, so it was a sad, sad, day.  We decided to go to Panera and went back to his house later.

Thursday
The only thing I did that day was play tennis.  The rest was doing schoolwork.

Friday
This was my last day of tennis this week.  I'm kinda glad it's over... for now.  Later that night I went to Friday's.  Man, I cannot resist a Jack Daniel's burger!

Saturday
Today my family and I went to Outback Steakhouse and got Cold Stone.  Am I the only one absolutely obsessed with their cotton candy ice cream?  It's the bomb.  I also posted my How I Style... Patterned Shorts post.

Sunday
I met up with an old friend and went shopping for a bit.  We went to Fastbreak for lunch, Marshalls, a thrift store named Silk Purse, and Target.  It was a good time, although I didn't buy much!

This weeks haul...

How I Style... Patterned Shorts

Forever 21 Button Down (similar) // Forever 21 Patterned Shorts // Forever 21 Circle Necklace (similar) // American Eagle Flip Flops // PBJ Smoothie Stick

Sometimes something as simple as shorts can throw you for a loop.  I mean, patterned bottoms are not quite as simple as wearing a patterned top, and can sometimes draw attention in the wrong places.  For me, one of my favorite ways to wear patterned bottoms is in some soft shorts.  This outfit can be worn both in the Summer and in the Fall, being that the top is very sheer.  The looseness of the top can outweigh the looseness of the shorts, making you look less bottom-heavy.  I own at least 7 pairs of patterned shorts, and these are definitely my favorite.  The pattern is so easy to pair with a lot of my other wardrobe pieces, and are extremely comfortable.  I honestly could wear these to bed!  To accessorize, I added a small pendant necklace.  I didn't want to draw away the attention from the shorts.  My favorite color lipstick to wear with navy is a berry color, and what better product to use than a PB&J lipstick!  It goes perfectly.  To keep it casual, I paired some leather flip flops with it.

How would you style these shorts?  What else would you like me to style?

Week of 8/8/16 - 8/14/16

Monday
As per usual... I had tennis bright and early.  No complaints, though, because it makes me start my day early.  I also posted My Favorite Lightweight Lippies.  Who doesn't like a good no fuss product?

Tuesday
Tennis again!  Later in the day, my boyfriend treated me to some Panera and Coldstone.  Mac and cheese and cotton candy ice cream is a good day in my book.

Wednesday
Tennis.  Tennis.  TENNIS!!!  Surprised?  I need a vacation, and that's why my Weekly Style was perfectly based around that exact theme.  Also, a small rant about twitter.  I don't know if many of you know, but I am a huge Taylor Swift fan.  This whole Kanye thing has gotten out of hand, and I don't appreciate people attacking me on social media for purely liking her.  These "fights" get so out of hand that the topics don't even stay on celebrity drama.  I need to do something better with my life.

Thursday
Tennis!  I am officially going craaazy!  Thank god my Ipsy and Birchbox came.  They made me sane for a good 10 minutes.  I also posted Lusting For... Forever21, which isn't a surprise because when don't I want to go shopping?  On another note, my family isn't big on carbs, which is why when I have a bagel, I have a bagel thin.  They're really not half bad, and you don't feel overly full afterwards.

Friday
I ended the week with one last day of tennis.  I celebrated with a trip down to Lavalette, which is a cute beach town about a half hour from me.  There's a bunch of expensive cute boutiques that have such unique items.  One of my favorite places to go there is a breakfast/lunch place called Megs.  Their cuban sandwich is soooo gooood.  I ended the day with the cutest dessert.  Instead of eating ice cream in paper bowls, my mom made these tiny brownie bowls!  Mint chocolate chip ice cream with a warm brownie is the way to go, if you were wondering.

Saturday
Saturday was a short day, purely for the fact I went to one of my boyfriend's cousins' birthday parties.  They switched it up this time and got a regular cake instead of ice cream cake. Woop!

Sunday
Sunday I also went to another birthday party.  It was for my boyfriend's sister, and her real birthday is today.  Happy Birthday Jordyne!  His family went back to ice cream cake, and I'll admit, I wasn't mad about it.  This week's Swatch Sunday was all about one of my holy grail products.  Go check it out to see what it is.

This week's haul...

Swatch Sunday #11

Happy Swatch Sunday!  This week I wanted to swatch one of my all time favorite highlighters.  The Benefit Watt's Up! Highlighter.  This is a cream highlighter that comes in stick form.  I got mine as a sample, but it's pretty generous.  The color is gorgeous and fits in right with my skin tone.  Since I have a warmer skin tone, I rather go for a champagne color, rather than a silver highlight.  What I like most about this product, is that it doesn't mess up my foundation.  It just meshes, and that's what a good cream product should do!

Thanks so much for visiting my blog!

Weekly Style : Can't I Just Feel Like I'm On Vacation?

From a few weeks of my "Weekly Makeup" posts, I decided I'm going to switch it up, as I usually do!  I don't know why, but I can't keep the same kinds of posts for more than a few weeks.  Maybe one day I'll learn...  This week I've inspired my style by my wish to be on vacation.  Oh how I wish I was at the Keys sipping a virgin pina colada.  My colors chosen were mostly a light salmon color and chambray.  I also went for a light color palette for the eyes and lips.

Forever 21 Oh Crepe! Top // Francesca's Lace Cover-Up

Forever 21 Quilted Pencil Skirt // Express Acid Wash Skinny Jeans //
Everly Polka Dot Chambray Skirt

My Favorite Lightweight Lippies

Left To Right : Sephora Kiss Me Lip Balm in Strawberry Fizz, Covergirl Lipslicks Smoochies Lip Balm in #luvu, Clinique Chubby Stick Moisturizing Lip Colour Balm in Curvy Candy, Revlon Color Burst Lip Butter in Pink Truffle, Sonia Kashuk Moisture Luxe Tinted Lip Balm in Hint of Pink
There's something about those days that you just don't want to wear makeup.  They're so special to me because they rarely happen.  But if I must, and I mean must, go out and look somewhat decent, I only opt for 3 things: concealer, mascara, and a nice sheer lipstick.  These are 5 of my absolute favorite lippies for those kinds of days.

The first lip balm I chose was the Sephora Kiss Me Lip Balm in Strawberry Fizz. (color not available, but they're on sale!!!)  These are so cool because they smell/taste exactly like the shade name.  They are so soft and leave a little bit of a stain. The Covergirl Lipslicks Smoochies Lip Balm in #luvu is kind of a hidden treasure for me.  I ended up buying these for a few of my friends for Christmas one year, and I found out that I really like them!  I have a few, but the pigmentation is hit or miss.  I like wearing the shade #luvu because it's perfect to throw on and not care about if it fades!  One of my long time favorite products is the Clinique Chubby Stick Moisturizing Lip Colour Balm in Curvy Candy.  When these first came out, my mom was all over them.  She doesn't usually wear a lot of makeup, but she does like a lightweight lipstick.  This color ended up being too light for her, so she gave it to middle school me!  I ended up loving it, and now I wear it at least once a week.  Many people were soaking in the hype when the Revlon Lip Butters released, and honestly, I did too.  I found a few that I really like, and some others I don't.  One of my favorites to transition from summer to fall especially is Revlon Color Burst Lip Butter in Pink Truffle.  ( no longer available, what the heck!?!??!?!)  Last but not least, I have another surprise.  Sonia Kashuk is a makeup company that I never see hype over, and I believe it deserves more!  I didn't get this product even expecting to like it because most of the ones like these are pretty sticky.  I have to say, the Sonia Kashuk Moisture Luxe Tinted Lip Balm in Hint of Pink is shockingly soft.  Like the Sephora one, it stays on for a decent amount of time for a lip balm and also leaves a bit of a stain.  This product is a really nice one, and I believe it deserves more attention!  Thinking about it makes me want to buy all 4 colors...
