Day to Night look with

There is nothing I love more than a makeup look that can easily transition from day to night with little effort.  Contrary to what you may think, you can change the entirety of a look by changing up the lip, or adding a pop of color. is looking for come creative ideas on how to transition makeup from day to night in the Sin City. Using the hotels and package deals page, I got started right away on what I would use to inspire my looks.

For my looks, I chose the Flamingo hotel.  I couldn't get over how eye catching the colors were, and I just knew it had the perfect palette for what I was going for.  For both day and night, I used the same foundation, bronzer, blush, and brows to make it simpler.  The whole point of a transition is to be speedy and not have to do much!

Look One: Day
For during the day, I always like to go with a light neutral eye.  I didn't want to make this look too eye catching, so I could focus on the lip color.  I used a matte brown for the crease, and the same shade in a more shimmery texture for the lid.  I then used some gel eyeliner to make a thin line on my upper lash line because I knew I could build it up later.  For my lips, I wanted to play into the fun colors of the Flamingo.  I wanted to save the bright lips for later, so I opted for a lip gloss instead of a super pigmented lipstick.

Look Two: Night
This look involved me exaggerating everything I had done for during the day.  I didn't change anything for the eyeshadow, but I did turn my thin liner into a graphic wing!  To play off the lights on the hotel, I lined the top of my wing with a teal gel liner.  I've never done this before, and I absolutely loved the turnout!  The lips are where the heart of this look comes from, though.  The Flamingo captures your attention with its hot pink exterior, so it just seemed right for me to top off this look with a crazy hot pink lipstick.

Top 5 Favorite Statement Necklaces

Welcome back to the blog!

So sorry for the long absence.  School has been kicking my butt, again!  Hopefully, there will be none of that for a while since exams are done for now.

Today, I wanted to show you what my all time favorite statement necklaces are.  I didn't choose there for any particular season, but I do find myself gravitating to all of these throughout the year. Statement pieces are extremely important in a wardrobe.  I think they can oomph up any outfit if you don't know what accessories to wear.  One way I love to wear these is with a plain tee or sweater. The piece you choose instantly becomes the highlight of your outfit with little to no effort or thinking.  It's a great choice for those times you wake up and have 10 minutes to get everything together.

Thank you so much for visiting my blog!  I hope you love these necklaces as much as I do.  Link your favorites down below! Don't forget to contact me at...

Weekly Style : Sweater Weather

Welcome back to my blog!

This week the weather finally took a turn for the best.  The temperature finally went under 60 degrees, and that means I can break out my favorite sweaters and high socks.  This time a year is where my inspiration flows.  Sometimes I think that Fall and Winter are the only times my outfit making skills are comprehensive.   I chose some pieces that I could really transition my closet with and were versatile with the cold weather in the morning and the warm weather as the day went on.

Autumn Date Night Makeup Idea

Welcome back to the blog!

Autumn is such a great time to go on some adventurous dates.  It has the perfect weather: You don't sweat to death, and it's not too cold that you're shivering!  I love to go on casual dates such as taking a walk to get some pizza or an alternative beach trip to watch the sunrise/sunset.  But maybe you want to spice up the night by renting a fun car to take.  Turoa peer-to-peer car rental company,  has a selection of both classic cars and rare cars, like Tesla's, that can make for an exciting experience.  I'd love to take a drive around town in a crazy colored car and see everyone's heads turn!  I decided to create a look that you could wear to one of these dates while driving around in your rented car from Turo.

Products used:

  • Aphorism Lip Gloss in a slightly shimmery hot pink

Thank you so much for visiting my blog!  Please check out Turo to add a brand new element into your date night routine!  What's your favorite date to gone on in Autumn?  Don't forget to contact me at...

Thrift City 1 : Thrift Tips

Thrift Tips:
A guide to a smart successful thrift.

Thrifting is quickly becoming the mainstream when it comes to discovering something old and turning it into something unique and funky.  Today's post covers the basics, from learning the trade jargon to a field guide on various materials to the biggest question when shopping.  Here we go!

Learn the Lingo:
These few terms will help turn you into a vintage pro!

Dead stock- Finding a dead stock piece in a local thrift is like striking vintage gold.  For an item to be dead stock means that a store either closed or went out of business before the item was sold.  So finding a dead stock item is finding a brand new item that's never left the store other than when it was bought by the thrift store or seller.
NWT- “New with tags”, Similar to dead stock the only difference being that the item was bought by someone but never worn.  This is most commonly used in online thrifting, on websites such as Poshmark, EBay, or Etsy to name a few.
Upcycle- Upcycling is taking something old and turning it into something new and improved.  Such as distressing an old pair of jeans or reupholstering a chair.

Fabric and Quality:
Whether thrifting or shopping at the mall knowing what you're buying can make all the difference!

Cotton-  No matter the item cotton is the most reliable when it comes to fabric.  It's generally machine washable and holds up great over time.

Acrylic- This is the material to look out for when buying clothing.  Acrylic is commonly found in sweaters or knitted materials.  Be very very careful when buying anything made from acrylic because it will most likely pill or fall about in the washing machine.  The best way to keep an acrylic item looking nice is to follow the care instructions on the inside tag!

Polyester- Polyester fabric is very durable and often contains a nice stretch to it.  But you can often find that you are more prone to sweating in a polyester shirt rather than a cotton one.

Wool- Wool is a very expensive material that needs to be looked after with much care.  Always follow the care instructions when it comes to washing wool. In addition to being difficult to care for wool also stains very easily and does not respond well to bleaching.

Is it worth it?

This is the very most important thing to ask yourself when thrift shopping.  Is the item unique enough to spend your money on, will you actually wear it in your day to day life?  It's not enough to own something cool and trendy for it to sit in your closet forever.  Think of every item you thrift as a commitment, do you have something to wear with that item?  Or do you already own something very similar?  Whether it's a low end thrift for $5.00 or a vintage designer piece for $50.00 always make sure that the piece you're buying is worth it to you!

Weekly Style : Just A Little Bit of Me

Welcome back to the blog!  This week, I've chosen a few of my favorites that I feel it embodies everything I'm about.  I good coral lipstick, some nude polish, and a pretty floral dress.  If it fits those categories, I'm seriously all about it.  My favorite part about this bunch is the pearl earrings.  They are so effortless.  I could wear sweatpants and pop on some pearls, and BAM!  I look like a daydream. When I'm wearing that dress from H&M and pearl earrings, I want to go back in time and take a romantic cruise.  Also, I layered the two pastel purples to create a cool frosty effect!

Week of 8/15/16 - 8/21/16

I started off my long, dragging week with an early morning of tennis.  Later on in the day my boyfriend treated me to Uminoya, which is a sushi restaurant, and some Dairy Queen!  Recently, my favorite treat has been a cookie dough blizzard.  That day I posted last week's Weekly Roundup post.

I woke up bright and early for another day of tennis.  Later on, I volunteered at the hospital.

Another day, another tennis practice.  Later on I went to Uminoya and Rita's with my boyfriends sister, and I also took a quick trip to Marshalls.  Today was my last day with my boyfriend before he left for Florida, so it was a sad, sad, day.  We decided to go to Panera and went back to his house later.

The only thing I did that day was play tennis.  The rest was doing schoolwork.

This was my last day of tennis this week.  I'm kinda glad it's over... for now.  Later that night I went to Friday's.  Man, I cannot resist a Jack Daniel's burger!

Today my family and I went to Outback Steakhouse and got Cold Stone.  Am I the only one absolutely obsessed with their cotton candy ice cream?  It's the bomb.  I also posted my How I Style... Patterned Shorts post.

I met up with an old friend and went shopping for a bit.  We went to Fastbreak for lunch, Marshalls, a thrift store named Silk Purse, and Target.  It was a good time, although I didn't buy much!

This weeks haul...
