It's Time To Move On

Sometimes life takes an unexpected turn. Sometimes these things make you feel confused or even blindsided. This doesn't mean you aren't worth anything. This only means that you have time to start over and create a clean slate.

This past month I've left a huge chunk of me behind. Without going into detail, this event left me empty. At first it made me feel gross. I felt alone and unconfident and had no drive to do anything.  But then I realized that its not healthy to be this way.  This upcoming year I will be a senior and there is much to be done. I am not going to let one person define how the rest of my life will play out.

I had two options. Should I mope around and let people feel bad for me? No. That would let the other person win. I decided it was best to focus on me.  Let me focus on my college plans. Let me build my brand online.

I also decluttered everything. Not only did I delete half of my social media. I also deleted pictures and decluttered my whole room. I decluttered people out of my life and only kept the ones I feel that will truly better me in the future. If you can delete the remnants of a toxic memory, you'll feel so free.

Of course everything I've explained is easier said than done. If I could let you know just a few things out of this, these are the most important:

1. Do not give up your friends for anybody. Friends and family are the most important thing in your life. They are your support system and your happiness lifeline. Don't take them for granted. Do not make the same mistakes I did.
2. Your worth is not measured by how others make you feel. You are not wrong if somebody treats you wrong. Go ahead, put some makeup on! Or don't. Do something to make yourself feel confident. Surround yourself with confident people.

Letting go of someone or something that has been consistent in your life can be hard. You may want to blame yourself for not being good enough. As long as you tried 100%, you should be receiving 100%.  Good things come to passionate, happy people. Don't search for attention and happiness. It'll come, I promise.

Current Favorite Makeup Look // July 2017

Instead of doing a makeup favorites for this month, I decided to do something a little different.  This look has been my favorite to wear for a while. Although it's not natural, it's stunning and still perfect for everyday wear.  A cut crease look can really open up the eye and create an intriguing effect.  Also, rosy pinks can flatter almost everyone, these two factors make this eye look a go to for anyone.

Featured Products:
I love this concealer because it's very lightweight and doesn't bunch up under the eye.  It's also sheer enough that it doesn't totally change the look of my foundation.  Many people love that look, but it's too dramatic for my liking.
This used to be one of my most hated products, but over the years that has totally changed.  My brows used to be way too bushy to be able to use this gel effectively, but now that they're thinner, it's great for keeping my brows in place.
I used to show so much love for this palette, but it's been hidden in the back of my drawers.  Summer is a perfect time for warmer toned colors, and that's what this palette is all about.  I loved using this for my cut crease, putting a dark matte shade in the crease, and a shimmery rose shade for the main lid color.  I topped this look off with a cooler charcoal in the outer v for more definition.

Lips And Trips + Warby Parker

On June 13th, Warby Parker launched their new glasses collection.  This feels like a throwback to the fifties, just what I'm all about!  Their new styles include a common vintage theme featuring three new silhouettes to tie them into the modern age.  I love the bold brow line and the different textures.  As summer's getting into full swing, a new pair of sunnies is definitely on my shopping list.  Scroll through their spread and travel back to 1955.

May Favorites 2017

Welcome back!  I decided to do a monthly favorites because I really did have a few standouts this month! Enjoy.

Essie Mademoiselle & Orly Shine on Crazy Diamond - I love simple nails and this color combination reminds me getting some french tips with a twist.  They're super quick and easy to do, and if they chip, no worries!  It's super discreet.

Ofra Peach Blush - I received this in my ipsy a few months ago, and I forgot about it for a while.  This month I picked it back up and couldn't understand why I ever put it down.  It is so pretty!  Usually when I wear this, I can skip out on the highlighter because it's already glowy enough.  I want to mix this with some balm so I can use it as a lip gloss!

City Colors Bold Brow Powder - I received this brow powder in another ipsy, and I've been using it nonstop.  It's super cheap but super pigmented.  I love it so much and would actually repurchase it!

Revlon 24 Hr Colorstay Foundation, Tarte Maracuja Oil, and Josie Maran Gold Argan Illuminizer - I fell in love with this combination this month.  It leaves my face so glowy, and I try not to powder to much of my face when I wear it.  I feel I'll be wearing this combination throughout the summer months.

theBalm Bahama Mama Bronzer - I love this bronzer!  It's great for the contour, and I'll blend it out with a warmer bronzer.  I received this in a subscription service, so that's why this sample is so small.  Although it's an awkward size, I love it anyway!

Birchbox vs Ipsy May 2017

Hey everyone, it's been a while since my last post!

Today I wanted to review the contents of my Birchbox and Ipsy and give you guys some first impressions about the products.  Each of these companies provide a $10 a month beauty subscription service where you receive 5 deluxe sample or full sized products.  Also, in the Ipsy subscription, you receive a new makeup bag each month.  I love getting these because it's a great way to discover new brands and products and also treat myself to a little "present" each month.

This month was pretty cool for Birchbox.  I dove into some different items that I wouldn't normally appreciate, and found some great results. First, I've been using the EVO mane tamer smoothing shampoo and conditioner. I feel like the shampoo is mediocre, but the conditioner is definitely something special!  It has a balmy texture, which it great for untangling unruly hair.  Also, if you were lucky enough to receive these as well, read the packaging; it's hilarious!  Next up I received the coola daydream mineral primer.  I have other primers from coola, and they always make me break out.  This made me hesitant to try out this one, but luckily this didn't do the same thing.  I love how it includes SPF 30 and also has a light, "moussey" texture.  One issue with this month's box was the fact I received a self tanner to use a week before prom.  I didn't want to risk trying the VITA LIBERATA ten minute tan and getting a sick orange tan before the big event, so I'm planning to trying out in June.  Hopefully it'll be as useful as the product claims.  Finally, I got my favorite product of this month!  First off, how cute is this packaging?  The Beauty Crop Fabulous Flocking Lashes mascara is packaged in a hot pink tube covered in flamingos.  How more perfectly could Summer be wrapped up?  Although the mascara itself is pretty average, I'll never say no to a new one in my stash!

This month's Ipsy included some great makeup products.  First I'll start off my saying I haven't tried out the Vasanti Brighten Up! Enzymatic Face Rejuvenator.  It seems to have a nice clean smell and the exfoliant texture is really fine.  One of my favorite things to receive in my subscription services are brushes!  I received the Royal & Langnickel Prevision Angled Brush this month.  It's really soft and can be used for so many uses!  Right now, I'm using it for highlighting, but I think I'm going to start using it for under eye concealer.  If you have any suggestions, please let me know!  Next up, I picked up the highlighter I've been using.  The Urban Decay After Glow powder highlighter in Sin is so pretty but not totally blinding, which I love!  I also received the City Color Bold Brow powder, which I've been featuring a bunch on the gram.  Although this product comes from a super affordable brand, the pigment is crazy good.  I love using this duo to achieve a natural brow.  Lastly, I received the Mellow matte lipstick in nude.  This shade is so pretty.  While not exactly a nude on me, this darker warm shade compliments so many looks.

I'm choosing Ipsy as my winner for this month!  I enjoyed all of the samples I got in my subscriptions.  Who do you think won?  Share what you got in the comments! Thank you so much for visiting my blog!  Don't forget to contact me at...
